Eminent Custom Graphics is a fullservice graphics company based in Ontario, Canada, specializing in vehicle wraps, murals, signage, and custom installations. Founded by owner and lead installer Mark Dorey in 2006, Eminent is known for creativity, precision, and customer focus, helping businesses stand out with bold, highimpact designs. Mark had been using competitor texturedsurface films for years, but projects on rough brick walls were slow and stressful. “You’re looking at a lot of heat, a lot of time, and it’s tough to get consistency,” he explained. Even with extra labor, the results were unpredictable, and for a high-profile mural, that wasn’t good enough.

Looking for a better option, Mark turned to Arlon DPF V9500 with Series V3370 Satin. The product promised a paint-like finish on challenging walls while reducing labor and stress. On install day, Mark worked solo on a lift more than 20 feet up, applying large vertical panels. “I tacked the very top of it and then I pulled the entire backer off and just sheeted the whole piece on the wall, like a vertical strip. It had enough tack to stay on the wall, but when I wanted to reposition it, it was no problem.” Heat response was another highlight. “It took the heat quick and reacted really well. It softened up, and it was effortless to push into the texture when I was doing the grout lines. I was able to install very quickly for that size of mural.”

When the project was complete, the reaction was immediate. “They loved it,” Mark said of Steam Whistle’s team. For him, the job was smoother and less stressful than past installs on textured walls.

“I would say it saved me time for sure, which in turn saves stress. So yeah, I was really happy.” Large panels but forgiving for repositioning, and the satin overlaminate reduced glare while keeping colors vibrant.
