     Yarn Denier Explained
The strength of a scrim banner is determined by the denier. The denier is the thickness of the thread; the higher the denier, the stronger the banner. 1000 Denier (1000D) banner means that a single thread has been twisted 1000 times to the finished length of an inch (think: string vs rope).
